Lab Grown Diamonds.

We’re all know countless facts regarding the diamonds. There are two categories of them, really – the valuable stones and those that are used in different industries, in brief – industrial ones. First ones are luxury, while the second types are available in nearly everybody’s toolbox in a garage – they are used for cutting glass, as a file abrasive material and so on and so forth.

While we speak diamonds, not surprisingly, we picture valuable stones first. The image of a diamond (or a brilliant) appears almost right away – in a gold ring, pendant or studs. Now, the nature spent millions of years to create diamonds that we all admire… That is most likely one of the most mystifying things concerning the diamonds as such (well, apart of their value in terms of the money, of course).

Until present times, natural diamonds were the only ones out there on the market – if you were going for a genuine diamond ring or any other piece of jewelry with the diamond, you had no choice really. But, thanks to the technological advances of the present time, you can now enjoy the freedom of choice with the diamonds also (just like we had with the Black titanium as opposed to the ordinary titanium).

That’s right – at this point mankind can create lab grown diamonds in the matter of days. And, that is yet more remarkable than the making time, these man-made diamonds are completely the similar as their natural “counterparts”. Incredible, isn’t it? No more look for for the diamond for your budget through dozens of jewelers, no more waiting until the stones be in stock. There is, still, a caveat to the promise. The man-made diamonds are formed with the utilization of the extremely high temperature and pressure. While lab-grown diamonds, as those diamonds are identified (short for laboratory grown diamonds) are chemically, physically and optically equal to natural diamonds at 100%, the colorless version – the one we are most familiar with and try to find, has its mass limitations. You are very not likely to attain colorless man-made diamonds that are larger than a one quarter of a carat. In all likelihood they will be even smaller…

The colorful ones are a different story. Their shade varies, but the most known one is vibrant yellow or cognac – colored. Other colors started showing lately. Bright yellow diamonds are produced in larger dimensions, and seeing them at sizings varying among 1.00 and 1.75 Carat is not uncommon. Still, the making is fairly an expensive process, so a very small amount of specialized producers are in this commerce, as the original investments into the manufacturing technical part are noticeably big. In comparison, however, to natural, mined, vivid yellow diamonds they are a bargain while compared on an apple to apple basis…

One of the other names for lab grown precious stones is ethical precious stones. By default, production of such diamonds is ethical, as it is not associated to any wars or human casualties (unlike the natural blood-diamonds that cost thousand of individuals lives in Africa). Thus, with picking such labgrown diamonds for your jewelry not only lets you save, but in addition allows to save real people lives by boycotting the blood-diamonds spreading.

Certain jewelry design studios even make an additional pace – with the sale of every “lab grown” diamond, they give cash to clear land mine fields (the terrifying echo of wars indeed) in Africa. Such type of activity is done through the global organizations, so the consumers of Igloo diamonds, for example, even get a certificate, with the map of the field that was cleared up following a diamond acquisition. So, laboratory grown diamonds can in fact make our world a much better place. With a small help from people, obviously.
